Architectural Relay Loops - Serial vs. Parallel Aviation
Training Center / Weather Station at Reykjavik Domestic Airport, Iceland The
initial research of this studio led the analysis into a comparative study of three
different scenarios frequently encountered in any simulated system, whether it
is weather or aviation. These three scenarios of analog, digital, and analog
with digital assistant were abstracted into a basic set of deformations in a three
dimensional modelling software. In the subsequent research, the same basic
spherical geometry is fed into a variety of sequential and non-sequential events
to test the nature of the three different types of scenarios. This resulted
in the development of three different deformation circuits, the forced feedback,
the serial, and the parallel relay loop. Through
this research, the secondary program of aviation training center is re-engaged
into the weather monitoring station, and a new business strategy is developed
for a hybridized venture that incorporates both flght school and weather station
in a new inter-dependent manner that is mutually beneficial.
